The Curidas Stones series is a limited edition celebrating 60 years since Platinum's first retractable fountain pen, launched in 1965. It comes in three colors inspired by precious stones, with an iridescent pearl finish that changes shade with the angle and the light.

The Lolite color

The Lolite (iolite) shade recreates the blue-violet of this gemstone, known as the "Viking compass stone" for its pleochroic nature: it shows different colors depending on how you look at it. On the pen, that play of color becomes reflections that run from blue to violet with every movement.

A name with a story

"Curidas" combines curiosity with the Japanese word kuridasu, meaning "to extend", a nod to the nib that extends with every click. It comes from Platinum Pen Co., founded in Japan in 1919 by Shunichi Nakata. The Curidas revives, 55 years later, the spirit of the brand's first retractable pen from 1965.
