The Tibaldi Bamboo Winter is part of the exclusive Trio Project, a special project developed around Tibaldi's iconic Bamboo design and created to offer a distinctive new interpretation of this Italian fountain pen.
The Winter concept draws inspiration from A Hazy Shade of Winter, the song written by Paul Simon in 1966 and later popularised by The Bangles. The atmosphere of winter, mist and fading landscapes is translated into the fountain pen through a carefully selected combination of colours and resin.
A resin inspired by winter mist
The body of the Tibaldi Bamboo Winter is made from a combination of white and pearl resins, with small darkened areas adding depth and contrast to the finish. The result evokes the soft, diffused appearance of a misty winter landscape.
As with materials of this nature, the distribution of colours and subtle variations in the resin give each fountain pen its own visual character. Rather than being simply white, the finish combines different tones that reveal themselves differently depending on the light.
The Bamboo design, reinterpreted
For the Trio Project, Tibaldi takes its established Bamboo design and gives it a new aesthetic treatment. The characteristic hanging-chain decoration on the cap has been removed and replaced by a clip inspired by the one used on the Perfecta line.
The result retains the distinctive personality of the Bamboo design while creating a cleaner and more contemporary appearance. With its 15 mm diameter, the pen also has a balanced presence in the hand.
Stainless steel nib with an ebonite feeder
The Tibaldi Bamboo Winter is fitted with a stainless steel nib combined with an ebonite feeder. This combination is part of Tibaldi's approach to fountain pen construction and is designed to provide a reliable and consistent writing experience.
