The Messenger Collection was created in five translucent resin colours: Acqua, Arancio, Verde, Rosso and Caramel. Each colour was limited to just 366 individually numbered pieces worldwide.
The number 366 is a direct reference to 2020, a leap year with 366 days. The individual edition number is engraved on the back of the cap, giving each pen its own place within this limited production.
The Acqua version combines Leonardo's characteristic Italian pen-making aesthetic with a translucent resin finish. The material allows light to interact with the body of the pen, creating a subtle sense of depth while maintaining the elegant proportions of the Messenger design.
The metal components are finished in stainless steel, providing a clean contrast with the translucent resin. The cap features a personalised steel ring bearing the Leonardo signature, reinforcing the connection with the Italian brand and its namesake, Leonardo da Vinci.
The Messenger is designed as a well-balanced fountain pen, with a dynamic silhouette when capped and an unusual hood-like extension at the rear. Its single-threaded stainless steel fitting at the section makes the pen quick and straightforward to open.
The fountain pen is equipped with a JoWo steel nib made in Germany. Available nib widths for the Messenger Collection include EF, F, M, Broad and Stub 1.1, allowing writers to choose the line width and writing character that best suits their style.
The Messenger Collection Acqua uses a cartridge/converter filling system. A converter is not included with the pen, making it possible to use standard fountain pen cartridges or add a compatible converter for bottled ink.
